BEM-TE-VI IS THE NEW GROUP OF PARTICIPATION SYSTEM OF GUARANTEE FOCUSING ON ANIMAL PRODUCTION

In March 217, the new Participatory Guarantee group of the PGS Ecovida Agroecology Network was officially created. Named Bem-te-vi, the group’s focus is animal creation and intends meet organic animal breeders who wish to certify their products through SPG – Participation System of Guarantee of the Ecovida Network.

The meetings for the foundation of the new group began in July 2016, with the guidance of Pery Marazulo and Heloiza Zuffo, from the Tupanbaé group, in São Francisco de Paula, Rio Grande do Sul. Due to geographical proximity, it was decided that the Vale do Caí group would be the godfather of Bem-te-vi. According to the procedures for participatory guarantee system in Brazilian organic production legislation, the Coordinator of the Vale do Caí Group, Irineu Scheuer, carried out the official inspection of the group and Edimar Moreira Coelho and Jose Vanderlei Cachoeira Silva, both of the Ethics of the Vale do Caí Nucleus.

Were avaliated the Maxgo Jersey Farm and Mauro Gouvea milk and cheese producing agroindustry in Tapes, RS, and the hens and pigs in the farms Fazenda do Pastoreio, by Flávio Figueiredo, in Eldorado do Sul, RS . The members of the Bem-te-vi Group Advisory Board were present during the inspection as well as Marcelo Stumpf and Eduardo Dias, from Federal University of Rio Grande , and Luiza Schafer and Angela Escosteguy from IBEM.
